Lake crossing from Bariloche to Puerto Montt
Bariloche – Petrohue – Ralun – Fiordo de Reloncavi – Puelo - Puerto Montt- Frutillar - Llanquihue - Puerto Montt

Day by Day Itinerary:


Day 1: Bariloche Arrival - Check in
Arrival Transfer in airport/ bus terminal – Hotel Accommodation in Bariloche View Boutique Hotel (3 stars).
Welcome Drink. Bikes hand out and briefing about the expedition. Tour Leaders will be at the meeting to answer any questions you might have.
Welcome Carbohydrate Dinner: pasta, pizza, water, juice or beer.

Day 2: BARILOCHE – PETROHUE - Crossing the Andes by the Lake
31 km – Type of road: Dirt Road and Gravel.

• 07:00 AM. Transfer from Hotel to Puerto Pañuelo
• 08:00 AM We board the Catamaran and sail through Nahuel Huapi Lake
• Arrival at Puerto Blest
• We ride to Laguna Frías – Puerto Alegre - (3.5 km)
• Take a boat from Puerto Alegre to Puerto Frías
• Ride 11 km to the Border with Chile
• Customs (Foreigners must bring passport, Argentinean citizens only DNI)
• Ride 16 km to Peulla
• We take the last Catamaran to Petrohue through Todos Los Santos Lake
• Tonight we stay at Petrohué Lodge a fantastic property on the shores of the lake. They will be waiting for us with a great dinner of regional fish and sea food and excellent Chilean wine.

Day 3: PETROHUE – ENSENADA Climb the Osorno Volcano
68 km by bike. Type of road: 30% dirt and 70% asphalt

Climbing this fantastic volcano is a unique experience you can´t miss! Osorno Volcano, with its eternal snow cap, has an incredible similarity to Mount Fuji in Japan.
After a break at the summit, we´ll plunge into an adrenaline-filled descent to the shores of Llanquihue Lake.
After we reach the base we pedal some 21 km to a nice group of cabins by the shore where we spend the night.


Day 4: Ensenada – Puerto Varas & Puerto Montt
45 km by bike – Type of Road: Asphalt

We have an early start in the morning to ride to Puerto Montt bordering Llanquihue Lake with an incredible view to the Osorno Volcano all the way. We pass by Puerto Varas a beautiful Mountain Village with German style constructions and fantastic views. A town that seems taken from a fairy tale! In Puerto Montt we stay at the Holliday Inn Express overlooking the harbor and the Pacific Ocean where we’ll spend the next two nights.

Day 5: Puerto Montt – Day Off
Day off, a good chance to rest a bit nd get to know the area of Puerto Montt or their wonderful neighbor islands.
Some of the options we recommend visiting the Port of Angelmo and its fair of local handcrafts or the Island of Chiloe.

Chiloe Island: To go to the Island of Chiloe we have to take a ferry to get there. In the island we can visit the small village of Caulin, famous for its oysters. After feasting yourself with the local specialty with a fantastic view to the Pacific Ocean we can go to the Penguin Colony of Puñihuil and there take a guided tour, it´s a 30 min. boat trip and travel around the little islands where we will be able to observe the penguins, birds and marine otters.

Day 6: Puerto Montt – Frutillar - Bariloche
70 km. Type of road asphalt.
Today we head back to Argentina but we have our last ride. We drive to the neighbor town of Llanquihue and there we ride to Frutillar. The paved road that borders the lake is quiet with almost no traffic and landmarked by the lake with the majestic Mount Osorno as a backdrop, some picturesque country properties, happy free-roaming livestock and fertile fields.
At Frutillar we can stop for a bite you can either eat at one of the local restaurants or enjoy a cold snack by the beach.
After lunch we have a three hour drive to the border. The highest altitude in the Andes is the natural border between both countries, there we start to ride, a fantastic descent to Villa Angostura, where we load the bikes in the car and head to Bariloche, our final destination. We spend the night at Hotel View.

Day 7: Bariloche – The Steppe
36 km. Type of road dirt roads, trails and paths.

At around 10:00 AM, we´ll pick you up at the Hotel to go to the Patagonian Steppe. We drive for around one hour to the beginning of Limay River from there we start to ride along dirt roads, nice paths and trails through the steppe. Here we will probably be able to see some of the local fauna like Llamas, Choiques (a type of small Ostrich), maras (the Patagonian hare), condors and of course lifestock which is pretty abundant around this area.
We get back to the Hotel at around 05:00 PM. At 08:00 PM we will pick you up at the hotel to take you for a fareawell dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 8 Transfer Out:
After breakfast, transfer out to Airport.
